How Many Football Matches End in a Draw

Many football matches ends on draw or tie. This is the possibility which occurs when one of the two teams fails to maintain dominant position. The match end results are 0-0 or 1-1. Extra times are given but again the goal position remains same. It was first time used in 1996. Penalty goals and free kicks are also techniques used for the decision making.

Why matches ended on draw is another thing. May be the teams are playing equally good or team don’t want to play with strategy. Point table is also important. Any team who wants to share one point with other team will waste all goal chances.

In 2014-2015 the percentage of matches which end in a draw was 8.1%. During NFL season a game ended on 27-27 tie. Australian football has two matches drawn ratio in every season. The total average of ties matches in 2016 was 7.4% where all ended on 0-0.
