Youth Football Concussions Symptoms

Concussion is a temporary brain illness. It causes timely disorders such as memory loss, blurry vision and thinking disability. It is caused by sudden change of the head movement, a jolt, fall or hit by a hard ball or sports injury. The brain functioning distorts and it stops work the way it works in normal routine.

 
In Football this is very common injury and sports like soccer should be played very carefully. During the game sometimes player get hit or sudden shake of head which later cause serious problem. While playing game players often coming from opposite side collide. These are the main reasons why Concussion is mostly related to the football sports injuries. Every year in the season 85% of the athlete faces this trauma.

 
In high schools, youth suffers in the club matches, school level competitions and while practicing. The coach must have knowledge to guide the young players about the safety measures. Any player complaining for headache, dizziness, hearing sensitivity, drowsiness and nausea needs physical examine. There are a few more symptoms which we can’t consider minor one. Some children feel lack of concentration and loss of balance.

 
The symptoms and recovery of the patient also vary. It depends on age also. Young players have some temporary distortion of memory. A survey reveals that only 3% of the young players came back to field in 24 hours. Other 13% couldn’t play for 30 days because of serious brain injuries. Researchers say, it is very important to inform parents and train football club coaches about the symptoms of Concussions in high school level. Many clubs are working without proper training and medical treatment.

 

Some precautions to prevent this mishap in the field:

 

1. Rules and regulations should be imposed strictly to make soccer a safe play.
2. Provide proper kit to the player.
3. High Schools must have medical protections.
