Football Players Who Died During their Career

Football is the most famous game of the world and a lot of players are associated with it. Like any other game, many football players also died during their career.

The reasons of their death were different, although. Here we are discussing just few of them.

Rodney Culver

Rodney Culver was used to play for San Diego Chargers. He was active in 1990’s and was considered as of the good players of the football. He was died in an airplane crash in 1996, when he was travelling with his wife.

Fred Lane

Fred started playing for Carolina Panthers in 1997. He set many records for the team. But his career was short, as he was killed by his wife in year 2000. Her aim was to get the insurance money, but she was proven guilty and was sent to jail.

Korey Stringer

Korey was a Minnesota Vikings player, who earned many honors in his career. He played his final season in year 2000. He suffered a heat stroke during match practice and died in the same condition. His heat injury was due to inefficient equipment. Due to the death of Korey, changes were made in law to prevent the chances of heat strokes in players.

Jerry Brown

Dallas Cowboys was the team for which Jerry Brown played in his final days. Jerry also played for many other teams as well. The cause of his death was a car accident in 2010, when he was travelling with the team members.

Thomas Howard

Thomas died in car crash in 2013, when he was playing for the Atlanta Falcons. He had a long career as he started playing in 2006.

Darrent Williams

Darrent was died at the age of 24. He died in 2006, when he was leaving for the new year party. He was died in drive by shooting, when exchange of fire took place between the two groups. He was a promising young player but his career was very short.

Chuck Hughes

A player of Detroit Lions died because of cardiac arrest in 1971. He is the only player who died during a match.
